What to expect
-
At Senior Counseling and Assessment Services, we provide counseling, assessment, and case management services.
Our services are provided by licensed professional counselors (LPCs), licensed marriage and family therapists (LMFTs), licensed clinical social workers (LCSWs), psychologists, and/or case managers. Each professional is encouraged to tailor their care plan—and therapy method—to the individual in front of them.
-
The amount of sessions that you participate in counseling depends on multiple factors, such as how often you attend appointments, and your specific needs and goals. Some of our clients choose to complete counseling after attending just a few sessions during a transition or following an injury, while others choose to work with our team for months or more.
Your dedicated professional care partner will work with you to create a personalized plan that fits your schedule and preferences. Ultimately, the decision of when to end therapy is up to you and your service provider.
-
Before your first appointment, you’ll receive a set of intake forms to complete prior to your session or during your first appointment. You can print these forms at home, we can send them through the mail, or you can fill them out online using our client portal.
Once your paperwork is complete, we’ll review our policies and procedures so you’re comfortable and confident working with your support professional.
Next, we’ll take time to get to know one another—and understand your goals. Together, we’ll create a personalized therapy plan you can feel confident in.
-
Every provider at Senior Counseling & Assessment Services is a fully licensed and trained professional—no volunteers or candidates for licensure.
In addition, our providers are licensed in the state of Oklahoma, and live within this state—even our telehealth providers. Due to the specific needs of the clients we work with, our providers are also required to engage in additional trainings designed to expand their skills and improve their ability to meet the needs of our seniors.
Sessions
-
Both! We provide in-person services for seniors and their caregivers who live independently and for those that reside at a care facility. Our in-home services are dependent on the availability of our providers, your preferred schedule, and our current service area. We also offer telehealth sessions (services provided in a virtual format, through video and/or audio means) throughout Oklahoma.
-
Telehealth is a form of virtual service you receive over the phone or via video chat on your phone or computer. It’s commonly used by medical and health services professionals who are located elsewhere.
-
Yes! We encourage your family to join therapy sessions with you, and to schedule their own one-on-one appointments. The aging process can be challenging for everyone, from seniors and caregivers, to adult children and young grandchildren. But families who create a foundation of healthy communication and emotional management are in position to navigate this season with greater optimism.
-
Medicare-and many Medicare Advantage plans, Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Aetna, Humana, Ambetter, HealthChoice, UMR, Tricare East, United Healthcare, QuickTrip, Medica, and Cigna are some of the insurance companies that our providers are in-network with.
You’re welcome to contact us with your insurance information so that we may provide you with a quote as to what your insurance plan will cover and your costs for services, if any.
-
The cost of your services depends on your insurance coverage. Once your benefits have been determined, or you choose to self-pay for services, we’ll provide an overview of your expected costs to you before your first appointment.
-
Payments are obtained via debit or credit card.
-
This depends on your insurance plan and services requested. Typically, outpatient counseling services do not require a referral nor prior authorization; however, to participate in standardized assessments (not a screener, questionnaire, or survey), a referral and prior authorization is usually needed.
We will inform you of a need for a referral and/or prior authorization upon checking you insurance benefits.
